Up for auction is a SUPERB c1820 FRENCH EMPIRE ORMOLU GOLD BRONZE WINGED FIGURE MANTLE TABLE CLOCK. A superb quality c1820 French Empire bronze & ormolu gold gilt clock. With intricately detailed winged figure and other fine figural designs to the base. The dials also gilt bronze with nice machined design and signed as seen. The clock chimes on the half and full hours with a fine quality chiming sound. One of the finest quality clocks we have offered in some time, of investment-grade.
Condition: The clock will wind and runs nicely chiming on the half and full hours. We always assume estate clocks may be in need of service or adjustments to be in perfect “time keeping” order. One of the feet being slightly loose but the clock still sits perfectly stable, and the bell appears to have some old tape residue as seen. The clock comes with pendulum and key as seen. The case shows minor wear and retains the vast amount of its original ormolu gold gliding. The clock has been respectfully looked after considering its early age.
Size: The clock is a beautiful quality example to display measuring 18 inches tall by 13 1/4 inches wide and 5 inches deep. PLEASE REVIEW PAYMENT AND RETURN POLICIES PRIOR TO BIDDING.
