SUPERB ANTIQUE GENTLEMAN'S STERLING SILVER CASED WALTHAM POCKET WATCH, c1919 A very good, gentleman's sterling silver cased Pocket Watch by Waltham USA.
This watch is a very good example, in very nice condition and good working order.
The English made, sterling silver case is in excellent condition. It has full English hallmarks for sterling silver. The case maker's mark "ALD" for the Dennison Watch Ca...se Company (Aaron Lufkin Dennison), the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the "anchor" town mark for Birmingham and the date letter "U" for 1919/20. The white enamel dial is in excellent condition, it has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. It is signed "Waltham USA".
The good quality, 17 jewel movement is in excellent working order. It is signed "AWWCo., Waltham, Mass".
The watch measures 50mm in diameter (across the case, excluding the winding crown).
Overall, this is a very good example, it would make a lovely gift or a very nice addition to any collection.
