Missing one small orange stone on top tier. Anyone able to do a repair can successfully replace this small orange stone as all prongs are present and this does not appear to be a rare size or type. Additionally, there is a small chip on the underside and bottom edge of the top stone that measures 1/2 mm h x 2mm w x 1mm deep when viewing the stone from the lower end of the brooch. I have included up close photos of it. It is not visible at all from the top or at either side view and aff...ects only the mold seam edge/bottom. Again, please view all photos to see multiple angles and extreme closeups and request more if you need clarification. Additionally, the stone sits up and off to the bottom right slightly. A prong adjustment to position it more centered and flat may help obscure the small chip as well. For size reference, the oval glass stone itself measures 13mm w x 17mm h x 6mm deep.Some prongs may need tightening.Unsigned - but authenticated by matching to exact signed brooches both here and on another site (I have located 2 so far). I have learned through information on the ebay jewelry and gemstones discussion board that it is more common for Schreiner pieces to be unsigned as they were most often purchased in bulk lots to be attached to clothing for sale as part of an outfit. So keep your eyes open. There are more out there.Even without verification to identical signed pieces, the known characteristics of hook and eye multi layer construction, placement of unfoiled stones upside down in their settings as well as the finish of the metal solidly point to Schreiner. Impressively sized, this bold, towering brooch measures 2 3/8"h x 2"w x 1 1/2"d. Truly fit for a queen.Please view all 12 photos. I have provided multiple photos showing all angles.Stones: Top layer: mottled and shimmering with a hint of translucent opalescence, a swirl oval flat back art glass cabochon sits on top and is surrounded by small orange glass rounds, one of which is missing, all unfoiled and points-up in their settings. This sturdier, upside down positioning will certainly make that minor repair much easier to manage. I never could manage to get the balancing act quite right on set stones. Second layer, gold finished flat top navettes placed in a laurel wreath configuration - though as should be expected, some of the applied gold is rubbed in places from enduring a long life. Third layer, points-up smoky navettes and points-up rounds which are clear with a tint of pale yellow green. All in fancy prongs. I was going to keep this for myself but I have enough jewelry in need as it is to justify adding another project. I know someone will be able to quickly love this piece back to its original form and add a stunner to their own collection.
