The brooch measures two inches by two & a quarter inches and is all made of real whitby jet. This brooch really is lovely with a plain backing and then inset with a glass panel which is inset with braided brown & blonde braided hair. The brooch has a pin & Cclasp working and dates to the victorian period, & just has wear you would expect, with a couple of nibbles, see pics, but certainly nothing that detracts in any way.This really is a lovely victorian whitby jet brooch in very good origional condition as stated and a unusual quality example of these.
