This is a lovely little antique 19th century Chinese Canton Export piano shawl. Red silk with cream coloured silk embroidery and fringe. There are carnations and butterflies represented in the gorgeous hand embroidery.
Unfortunately, this shawl's condition is far from perfect. There are many tiny holes mostly on one side of the shawl and there are a few small stains.
This shawl could be saved if backed with an iron on adhesive lining or it could be cut up for pr...ojects.
The silk square measures 37 inches by 35 inches.The fringe measures 6 inches long.
