Vintage 1979 Mongoose Motomag BMX Bike A True Survivor. The MOTOMAG II wheels are mint*** no damage, bends, or cracks. They could use a acid clean and polish to make them shine again but up to the new owner. This bike had been no storage for the past 25+ years. I pulled it out and washed it up. Cleaned the frame with some metal polish light rubbing. The original coating is in good condition for its age. It is not perfect and has some rust on the left rear of the frame. The dropouts are... in great condition. The Kickstand that was purchased and installed from day 1 is also included. The decals are ALL original, the decals on the forks are the only things that are partially missing from years of riding. However the remaining decals are original and in excellent condition and color. The bearings and crank set were all removed. Sonic cleaned and repacked with grease. I installed some new old stock tires, Chain, and pedals. I will include the original chain, tires, and pedals with the purchase. You will also receive the original owners manual with the ORIGINAL receipt of purchase, that is correct. You heard it right, the actually receipt of purchase dated 1980 along with the registration from the city it has been in since it was purchased. The plate/sticker is still on the seat post stem(dated 1981). The center bar Mongoose pad is included. It has the original winners circle red grips, and only one side has poked through from dropping it on the bar end. The original Mongoose seat is nearly perfect. The only flaw is the metal plate on the back isn’t legible anymore(saying mongoose)** The original pad has some velcro on it to help hold it together since the original snaps are not in the best condition. Unfortunately the handle bar pad and stem pad are missing. The bike is 90% original and is a true example of a survivor. If you have any questions or want additional images please feel free to ask.
