Vintage (ie, OLD) Pultec EQP - 1R Rack Mount, Tube Type Equalizer

This is an original Pultec EQP-1R.
I believe this unit was first owned by aNYC studio; when it closed, I acquired it, around 1970. I used it in my ownsmall production area for about 30 years.But around the turn of the century I pretty much retired, and thisunit hadn't been powered on since around 2000.
I plugged it in last week -bringing it up slowly on a Variac...no, not a chance. I plugged it in andturned it on. It worked pretty well, but with a hum, so I replaced the pow...ersupply multi-section capacitor and now it is back as it should be. The replacement I installed is not exactly the values of the original, but close enough; I've tacked the replacement in place, and I'm sure it will function as it should for many years, but I'll include the original (defective) one, so if the buyer is a stickler it shouldn't be too difficult to source an exact replacement.
All thecontrols are decently quiet and work as designed. This unit has to be used to appreciate how flexible it is - I've used manycurrent parametric and graphic equilizers, both digital and analog. Many are very good. But thisis better, IMO. Not as many controls, obviously, but it's just more "musical", (whatever that means) than anything else I've used. I know there are many copies of the original Pultec, both hardware andsoftware emulations. There's even a company that has bought up the rights tothe name and is producing a current version that they say is identical to theoriginal and looks stunning. But decent original units are becoming scarce.This unit does just what it's supposed to; other than the filter cap and a12AT7 subbed for the 12AU7 (I received it that way) it seems absolutelyoriginal. The rectifier tube is a GE with a date of '62 while the other two areundated RCA, so I assume 1962 is the year of birth. In its previous ownership it probably was run 24/7; after I acquired it ahalf century ago it was probably powered on less than 10 hours a month, and asI said, not at all for the last 20 years. It's got some minor "rack rash" where some moron neglected to putwashers under the rack screws, but not bad. Front panel is pretty close toperfect. The components and interior wiring are pristine.But please note that this is a half century plus piece of tube equipment. It seems to work just fine, but I have no idea what the original specs were, and even if I could look them up I'm not able to confirm frequency response, distortion, etc. It seems to work as it always has, which is very nicely.
I usually ship FedEx; so far they haven't lost or mangled anything I've packed properly. Figure a shipping weight of about 18 lbs, and approximate package dimensions of 24x18x12 inches; I'll leave it to the buyer to work out shipping from 11746 to the destination. Insured, of course.I'd be happy to ship overseas, but please keep in mind that a)this unit is ONLY 120 volt, 60 cycles. You can easily convert the voltage, but I have no idea how the power supply would deal with the lower frequency. Also, shipping AND CUSTOMS charges, can be obscene. As they say, caveat emptor.
