For sale is a used Swiss Cyma mechanical men's watch, likely produced in the mid 1950s.
18k solid gold case and case back. Clean Swiss Cyma R459 mechanical movement, 17j.
Very well preserved overall, comparatively rare model.
Original black crosshair dial, gracefully aged and in very good shape. Light fading of the imprints; few, if any, other imperfections and in near mint condition overall.
Hands and plexi crystal in very good condition. Unsigned gold plat...ed crown.
Cyma-signed and hallmarked 18k solid yellow gold case and case back with few light surface scratches, but nothing serious and in near mint condition overall.
Bezel and lugs in excellent cosmetic condition.

This Cyma is winding, setting and running well and keeping excellent vintage time. It gained ca. 5 sec/day during a 72hr time check.
It comes on a new black leather strap with neutral gold plated buckle.
Measurements are ca. 33mm in diameter excl. crown, and ca. 40mm lug-to-lug.Lug width 18mm.
Please note that most vintage watches are smaller than contemporary models.
Men's watches marketed in the 50s and 60s regularly featured diameter sizes between 31mm and 35mm, while 36mm -38mm diameters were considered 'oversize' or 'jumbo'.
