This tube is fresh out of storage, where it sat for a number of years. The cabinet is in fair condition and certainly shows use (a few small dents, etc). It's still a little dirty as we haven't cleaned it up at all. The good news is that it operates perfectly, although it seems to be reading high. We tested a 6SN7 on our TV-7 (recently calibrated by Dan Nelson) and got a reading of 80/80. On the tester being sold in this listing, the tube read 90/90. Now, no two testers will read exact...ly alike, but that's a little too far off. We recommend having this unit calibrated, and while you're at you may want to replace some of those components, as everything is all-original in this tester.
Please realize that this is a vintage piece of equipment, and unless specifically noted above, it has not been fully restored with new components. It will inevitably need maintenance, however it's impossible to know whether that will be next week or a few years down the road. Unless you are capable of doing this work yourself (or have access to someone who can), we suggest you revisit the idea of whether this is the right equipment for you.
