A classical looking semi dress / formal watch that is subtle enough that it can be used daily. This watch is for a small 5.5 inch wrist size. Without movement it weighs 16 grams and 20.5 with movement inside. See enclosed photos. Eloga History Thecompany began in 1917 when Fritz and Hans Spahr set up a watch-making shop inLengnau in Berne, Switzerland - an audacious move in the midst of the FirstWorld War. During this epoch-making period of history the Swiss watch-makingindustry contin...ued to gain headway both qualitatively and quantitatively, andthe timepieces produced by the Spahr brothers under the name Eloga gained inprestige. FritzSpahr junior became managing director after his father retired, and with thesupport of his uncle he displayed the necessary courage and perseverancerequired to build a new factory in 1941, in the dark days of the Second WorldWar. Built near the train station in Lenglau, the premises were ultra-modernand met the demands of the increasingly sophisticated manufacturing methods. Itwas not long before the younger Spahr’s solid training, professional skills andexperience contributed to the growth and diversification of the company’sproduction of wrist watches. He mastered to perfection artistic and scientific specialisedtimepieces, from sophisticated and sumptuously adorned ladies’ watches tohigh-calibre and complex sporting men’s watches. Itwas in this era that the trade press named Eloga as one of the leadingspecialists in sports watches, with the diver’s model receiving particularacclaim. Fritz Spahr junior continued to guide the company with his customarybrilliance and foresight until his premature death in 1965. A Woman at the Helm Hiswidow, Grety Spahr, next took over the company’s reins, expertly shoulderingall her husband’s responsibilities. With the help of daughter Gisela a new daydawned for Eloga watches, with the women offering more feminine and gracefulEloga watches. They ultimately launched the production of luxury watches for amore sophisticated European clientele.
