ONE OF MY REFURBISHED 2270 MARANTZ RECEIVERS WAS SELECTED, BY THE MARANTZ CORPORATION, TO BE ON DISPLAY IN MARANTZ CORPORATION'S BOOTH, AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW (CES) IN LAS VEGAS.

VIRUS:THIS ITEM HAS BEEN DISI...NFECTED, AND WILL BE ONCE AGAIN PRIOR TO PACKAGING FOR SHIPMENT. NO ONE HERE HAS, OR HAD, THE VIRUS. FOR THAT MATTER I STILL DON'T KNOW ANYONE THAT HAS THE VIRUS.THE VIRUS RATES HERE ARE VERY LOW IN THIS AREA, ONE OF THE LOWEST IN THE COUNTRY.WE ARE NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ANYWAY.
VINTAGE STEREO EQUIPMENT:PLEASE BE AWARE BECAUSE OF AGE, EVEN IF REFURBISHED, 40+ YEAR OLD VINTAGE STEREO EQUIPMENTMAY NOT BE COSMETICALLY PERFECT.ALMOST NONE ARE. THIS UNIT IS TYPICAL, BUT BETTER THAN AVERAGE CONDITION.
THEY WERE DESIGNED/BUILT IN A MUCH EARLIER AGE, AND DON'T HAVE HAVE THE FIT AND FINISH OF A NEW iPHONE, OR iPAD.BUT, THEIR SUPERIOR ELECTRONICS ARE SELDOM RIVALED TODAY.

THE 2230 IS ANOTHER OF THE WELL KNOWN EARLY 1970'S MARANTZ RECEIVERS. A TRUE WORK HORSE, AND VERY VERSATILE.
LIKE ALL VINTAGE STEREOS, OR ANYTHING 50 + YEARS OLD, IT HAS SMALL NICKS AND SCRATCHES.BUT IT'S NICER THAN MANY.
RENOWNED FOR IT'S DYNAMIC SOUND, BY ONE OF THE BEST STEREOS MANUFACTURES IN THE 1970'S, WHEN HIGH QUALITY STEREO ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT WAS BEING PRODUCED.(AND HARDLY RIVALED TODAY BY THE BLACK PLASTIC STUFF ON SALE AT THE BOX STORES)

THIS 2230 HAD THE CONTROLS CLEANED AND LUBED WITH THE CORRECT ELECTRONIC CHEMICALS. AS INTENDED, ALL THE CONTROLS WORK SMOOTH. NO STATIC.
NEW... GERMAN MADE FACEPLATE.
NICE MARANTZ ORIGINAL & CORRECT KNOBS.
ALL NEW LED LAMPS IN DIAL AND TUNING METER. NEW DIAL PAPER.
ALL NEW INDICATOR LAMPS, AND NEW STEREO LAMPS.
NEW DIAL POINTER LAMP.
ORIGINAL MARANTZ FEET.
NEW CAPACITORS IN POWER SUPPLY, PHONO, AND PREAMP SECTIONS.ALL WITH NEW UP GRADED TRANSISTORS TOO, ETC.
ALSO ADJUSTED MANY SMALL THINGS LIKE THE TUNING STRING. ELECTRONICALLY ADJUSTED THE DIAL POINTER SO IT SHOWS THE CORRECT AM OR FM STATION.
CHECKED AND REPAIRED ANY DEFECTIVE SWITCHES, REAR CONNECTOR JACKS, POWER CORD, ETC
TESTED/ADJUSTED THE HEADPHONE JACK.
PHONO SYSTEM IS REBUILT AND WORKS. ....ENJOY THE LP'S !
ALSO HAS A GOOD FM STEREO RADIO.THE FM DOES IN FACT PLAY IN "STEREO", WITH THE STEREO LAMPS WORKING.
THE "AUX" SYSTEM WORKS FOR ADDING A CD PLAYER, OR ANOTHER TUNER, ETC .
FOR USING AN iPod, iPhone. etc.....BLUETOOTH NOTE:A blue tooth unit like the HARMON KARDON BTA 10 with RCA cable ENDS can be used. Must pair up your music source with the Harmon Kardon.
Use the "aux" or "tape in" on rear panel jacks to connect.Look for a youtube video on the HK BTA 10
REAR PANEL IN GOOD CONDITION OVERALL. ALL SPEAKER CONNECTION TERMINALS ARE UNDAMAGED AND WORK GOOD.ALL CONNECTOR RCA JACKS ARE GOOD, NONE BROKEN.INTERIOR CHASSIS HAS SOME DISCOLORATION ON ANODIZING.
METAL OUTER CASE IS ALL ORIGINAL, IN GOOD CONDITION, BUT HAS LIGHTLY DENTED AREA TOP.
FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS.
DURING THE SERVICING, I ATTEMPT TO REPLACE ALL INCORRECT PARTS, AND USE AS MANY ORIGINAL NEW PARTS AS POSSIBLE. MY INTENT TO TO KEEP THE UNIT AS CORRECT AND ORIGINAL AS I CAN.
WHEN THE UNIT WAS TORN DOWN, I ALSO REMOVED AND POLISHEDTHE KNOBS, CLEANED JACKS ON REAR PANEL, ETC, ETC. SO IT LOOKS GOOD TOO!

NO BROKEN SWITCHES, KNOBS, CONNECTORS, ETC. IT IS A 1970s VINTAGE UNIT, WITH ALL THE CORRECT AND ORIGINAL KNOBS, CASE, ETC.

PACKAGINGI HAVE BEEN SHIPPING HEAVY ITEMS FOR DECADES AND HAVE DEVELOPED DAMAGE PROOF BOXING METHODS.I first wrap the stereo in heavy PVC bag, then enclose with multi layered bubble wrap on face and back..... then enclose it ..all... in another layer of 1" large bubble wrap.) The box itself is lined on all six sides with 1 1/2" thick rigid styrofoam boards. The fully bubble wrapped item is then installed in the reinforced lined box, and any void is also lined with rigid Styrofoam, SO THAT THE STEREO WILL NOT MOVE AROUND IN BOX, which is a disaster and an invitation to damage.On occasion I try to recycle some packaging materials.

Unit s are not shipped "on approval" by buyers. Buyers are responsible of any return shipping cost. Even though the unit has been refurbished, it still is a 30+ year old used unit and isn't perfect in all respects. It could need some other work in the future. It is a used stereo over 40 years old. The unit worked fine when it left here.
