This is a great looking, vintage, pre 1913 South Dakota leather license plate, #16688SD. It is 16" by 6". It is made with an iron frame sewn inside a leather "body." Has aluminum numbers and letters. There are holes for the hanging straps above the "1" and the "S". There is also a very small hole in the top loop of the left "8". There are small pieces of leather missing on the left corners (photo 5) and above the left "8" (photo 6). There is a ...shiny line to the left of the SD that looks like wax.
