Vintage 1952 Gretsch New Yorker Archtop Acoustic Guitar with 60's Gibson case. Condition is "Used".1952 Gretsch New Yorker Arch Top Hollow Body Acoustic GuitarWith 60's Gibson Case ( poor condition) Please look over the photos carefully.This is a very old guitar. Made in Brooklyn, New York, in 1952. This guitar is a solid instrument, but it has some issues. There are scratches and dings all over the guitar.There are NO major cracks or separations in t...he wood. The binding is coming off on the top. The binding has been replaced (poorly) on the back of the body. All other parts appear to be original.One of the tuning gears is bent, but it functions.There are deep grooves in the fretboard on the lower frets.The frets are in decent shape, they may have been replaced at one time.This guitar does need a neck reset, but it makes a great slide guitar as is.The action is very high past the 7th fret.You may notice large lines in the top that appear to look like cracks. I can assure you these are not cracks, they appear to be deep scratches. I can provide photos as proof.The Gibson case is in fair to poor condition. The handle is missing.All of the latches appear to be intact. The outside of the case has no major puncture marks, but it is in rough shape. The case is from the 60s, the alligator scale pattern is how we can tell it is made by Gibson. You can google other examples and you will see the same pattern. This would make a great project guitar. The neck could be reset, but it could also be left alone. The guitar is fun for slide and delta blues riffs as is. The binding can easily be repaired. It is very rare to find these guitars with a pickguard.These days I want to concentrate more on playing guitars, than fixing them. So I have decided to let this one go. It has a great big booming sound.
