Vintage Fisher 80 - C Mono Tube Preamp Minty Cosmetics Needs Cap. Servicing

Here's a Fisher 80c mono tube preamp. It comes from a private audio engineering museum in western North Carolina, and it's one of dozens of vintage audio items from the museum that I'll be listing over the next few months. I'm offering these pieces "as found." Most of them work, but some don't. In all cases, I'll try to provide an accurate assessment of electrical condition and suitability for use based on limited testing. I don't have the time, energy or skill to repair those pieces that aren't working, so please read the descriptions carefully to make sure you get what you're expecting.
Cosmetic condition of this 80-c is excellent, close to mint, but it will need to be serviced in order to be used. I hooked the output up to the preamp input on a receiver and then powered the 80c up slowly with a Variac. At about 70 volts, I started to get hum, so I brought it back down. All panel lights work, and the power transformer is good. Otherwise, it's being offered for repair, with no assurances stated or implied as to its suitability for use. I did not test the tubes, but there are 3 Mullard 12ax7's and one Fisher (probably Telefunken).
And finally, if you think this preamp is Old School, take a look at my TechnoGallerie website, where you can buy hard-to-find antique phonographs, antique radios, antique cameras and other gadgets you're not likely to see anywhere else. New arrivals include a near nin 1912 Victor V phonograph with an original 22" diameter spear tip oak horn. Just type TechnoGallerie in the address line of your web browser and hit the enter key. TechnoGallerie has a newsletter, too, and if you take a second to sign up for it, you'll receive an email update whenever I list something new on the site -- typically once a week.
That's about it. I will package the amp properly so that it arrives at your doorstep safely. I've been shipping fragile electrical antiques for years, and if you check my feedback, you'll see that I know how to do it correctly.
