Vintage German Chalet Cuckoo Clock, with water wheel, beer drinkers, dancers and of course a cuckoo. This is a very large cuckoo clock measuring 16 1/2 inches tall, 16 inches wide and 9 inches deep. It is rare to find one of this size up for sale. The clock has somewhere in the region of about 40 years of dust and grime in the works and so while it tries to run it will require a professional cleaning to set it right, so the clock is being sold in a "not running" condition (...thus the price reflects the condition). I have however checked all the mechanical operations and they all function normally. The cuckoo bird comes out on the whole and half hours and counts the hour correctly and the cuckoo mechanism sound great. The dancers dance, the water wheel turns, the music plays (from the Swiss movement) and the beer drinkers seem to like their beer maybe a bit too much! You can see from the pictures that this clock is in excellent condition aesthetically. Again, the clock is being sold with the condition being vintage "used and not operating".
