This is a vintage Pioneer Supertuner FM Stereo cassette player. This was the cat's meow when it came out. If you had one of these, you were the talk of the town. Having one of these mounting in your car will be like a trip back in time.
This Super Tuner is in good original condition as shown. The face is very clean with nice printing on the face and no dents or major scratches. The tuner dial is very nice and both the background and tip of the needle light up as they should. All pus...hbuttons and dials work as they should. The case is in good shape with fresh black wrinkle finish. The mounting bracket is the original and is included in good condition. The wiring is in good shape with plenty of room for splicing. The original model tag is intact and the model number KP-500 can be clearly seen. I removed the covers to show how clean this unit is on the inside. This is a very nice original KP-500 FM Stereo cassette player.
This radio has been tested and plays loud and clean on both channels on FM mode. The belt spins when a cassette is installed but there is no sound. All the cassette components look to be there. I imagine it just needs some lubrication and a new belt. Again, the cassette player does not play sound and will need work. I did not want to do more harm than good by messing with it.
