Vintage Leica Camera D. R. P. Ernst Leitz Wetzlar DRP No. 508854 5cm 1:2
Item History & Price
Please note that I am not an expert on vintage cameras. I did take it to someone who knows about them, and I will include his comments for you to read below. Everything you see on the photos will be included in this sale.
It operates and functions as intended mechanically, both the lens and body are from 1950.
As for the wear/tear, it's in great overall... condition for the age. Small flecks of the body are gone, there was a lot of dust and grime I cleaned off with qtips, but some still remains.
The biggest potential issues would be with the viewfinder and the lens itself. The viewfinder (on the left if you're looking at the back of the camera) is used to focus by using two ports that you see on the front of the camera (the little circles next to the rectangle). The left "slot" is fine, the right one seems to have a little haze or something, but it from looking at a few manuals online it seems to be somewhat normal?
The lens issue is regarding specs of dust/debris in the interior glass of the lens that could potentially show up on film. But I can't say for certain of course. Both of those things are fixable (and the lens is detachable too via twisting the whole thing counter clockwise in its retracted state), but I don't know the repair cost of it.
