Nice 1930's circa England-made Boosey & Hawkes Ltd. Key of G Trombone. Serial number 154884. I could not find much factual information about this horn online, so if someone knows more about it and wishes to let me know, I'll gladly update the listing as required. I have no idea of it's worth, so please advise if way off target price-wise.
I have no real history on this horn...it has been in the showroom for as long as I can remember. It was re-l...acquered about 25 years ago, then hung on the wall as decor. It is a beautiful horn to look at with all of the ornamentation on ferrules, tuning slide guard and on hand slide section. There are a few lacquer blemishes & scars - likely from the hangers it sat on as well as "bleeding" under the lacquer. Prior to re-lacquering, I can see that it had some dent work done to the bell flare (slight waves & dimples visible). Other than that, there are only a couple of very minor dents in hard to reach places - ie: the slide bow, goose-neck and main tuning slide crook.
Horn could be played, but it is missing the slide extension handle. Slide action is not perfect...being as old as it is, I fear working on the slide trying to make it perfect. My guess is that if anyone buys it, it'll be more of a show piece instead of day-to-day player. There is no case provided nor mouthpiece and accessories. That said, I will take extra care in making sure it can't get damaged if shipped.
