--- Tape is untested and sold with no guarantees. When I opened the box I was astounded to see the original yellow leader specific to this release showing title, catalog number, mfg info etc. At o...ne years ago I had some 50's RCA 2-tracks and I think a few may have had similar printed leader. NOTE that the box does not contain the liner note insert sheet (I have another release listed separately from the same label/time period which contains the liner notes and inspection slip). Also note how the box label has edge peeling/chipping on the box spine. In addition you can see fading along the box spine. I took a lot of photos of everything, all sides, edges, the reel including close-ups etc. so you can see the physical condition.
--- This tape came from someone that was clearing out an estate, I found this and another angel 2-track and a few 4-tracks, all classical. I had the opportunity to buy an old inline head webcor which was tempting as it might allow testing however, there was no way I would put a tape like this on "that" without extensive testing, too many things can go wrong with a tape transport without putting time and usually money into them. At one point I was getting obsessed with 2-track tapes machines (3 years ago I had a PR99 MKI and MKIII which I was using for home studio recording ), over the last 10 years I had a living room full of MCI JH-110's, 2 BR-20's, an RS-1500, an MX5050 MKII, all long since gone, which of course I regret (it all started with learning about the tape project and later recording live music at home). If I had to choose 1 to have back it would be one of the BR-20's (I had 2! that were like new), I used one to test some 2-track RCA's I had came across, I remember how I had to sit there and carefully watch and listen to the entire tape, and I remember on one there was a place where there was some kind of issue like a decrease in volume, I actually stopped play testing because it was just so time consuming and I never felt I could leave the room during playback, it was kind of stressful (I also didn't rewind the tape but rather played them back onto the original reel with the lifters engaged). I'll probably sell this before I find a machine I would want to own or could afford (the prices on prosumer decks are almost what I could have bought a studer for at the time, well maybe a half a studer). It just brings back a lot of memories, I've only had a handful of 2-tracks and never one of these Angel releases.
