Up for sale here is a vintage, antique, circa mid 1870s to maybe late 1880s unframed cabinet type photograph by Toledo, Iowa pioneer photographer J.S. Moore. The person in the photograph according what we can make out in pencil on the back reads Lee D. Clarence, Toledo, Iowa. The image is on paper mounted to the photographer's embossed backing card. The subject matter of the piece is either a young soldier or with the crossed swords on his hat maybe a Cavalry soldier. The entire ...size of the card measures 8 inches high by 4 1/2 inches across. Moore's name is embossed on the card in the lower right. As for condition the photograph itself is in good condition but the backing card is missing the lower left corner. There is also quite a bit of staining on the edges. This is a very early Mid West Photograph.
