A nice STANLEY BAILEY No. 5C Jack plane in very good restored condition. This is a Type 8/9 (overlapping features) made between 1902 and 1907. The plane has been disassembled, lightly cleaned, inspected for defects, lightly oiled and reassembled. It features a very good corrugated base; an excellent throat; nice clean bottom grooves; two patent dates and approximately 95% of the original japanning. The frog has a single patent date on the lateral lever and all free moving adjusters. A ...very good length type "AA" Sweetheart cutter that is sharp with no chips. Beautiful grain rosewood on the tote and knob. Both the tote and knob have no breaks, cracks or repairs. An excellent quality plane for the shop or the display shelf made during the heyday of Stanley Tools.
