This is the 2nd vintage Ampco brass claw hammer I have posted. This for someone who enjoys seeing an old piece brilliantly remastered. I took a lot of care and time in up-storing this hammer to the final product you see here.
This hammer weighs a total of 21.10 oz with the handle, the head by... itself is 16 oz with a total length of 12.5"
The stamping on both sides is in geat shape.
Not all of the dings and blemishes were removed, a few small ones still remain. I polished this to a mirror shine and even managed to get the hard to reach spaces under the claw and head. Anybody who has polished a claw hammer knows the struggle and effort that took.
The handle is original and was sanded down to 220 grit and treated with 4 coats of boiled linseed oil to preserve it. The handle is smooth but not slippery where it will slip out of your hand when using it.
By the age, I'd say this is easily at least 40 years old.
