Stanley No. 8 Type 11 or 12 Smooth Bottom Bench Plane. Body. This is the three patent date version. A Hang hole has been drilled in the tail. The tote shaft was probably stripped at some point but a special shaft and brass nut has been fabricated to fit properly. I also suspect the bottom has been milled to flatten it. This will make a perfectly good number 8 and the hang hole will not effect its operation at all.
