This is an outstanding Bordjalou Kazak rug from the southwest of Caucasus mountains which was made circa 1880. The bordjalou district is famous for its silky wool, high quality weaves and variety of colors. The filled has three small medallions in blue and green colors including man and woman, small motifs and characters. The main design surrounded by a large proportioned "zig-zag-border" with bright and luminous colors. This rug is in great condition for its age and certainly, it has some small repilling areas which are really hard to find from the back and front.
