Larry Ivie wasone of the first “big names” in comic book fandom, and he would go on the workprofessionally in comics as both a writer and an illustrator. He was bo...rn inSalt Lake City to Wilton and Aileen Ivie, the former employed as a biologist, but moved to New York City in his tens to attend the School of Visual Arts. Therehe began a lifelong association with New York Fandom—he was a member of theFanoclasts and a regular reader and contributor to various fanzines. He beganwith several contributions of CASTLE OF FANKENSTEIN, then produced sevenissues of his own semi-pro magazine HEROES AND MONSTERS. As a professionalillustrator, he appeared in magazines including GALAXY and IF, and collaborated on comics including T, H, U, N, D, E, R, Agents and wrotestories for Creepy and Eerie.Volume3, Number 1 is dated August, 1958.
