This original Stanley rosewood front knob is in Excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. There is minor wear. It comes with the hardware needed to seat it to the new plane and is the later tall style. It is the correct style and size for a No. 5 and No. 5 1/2 manufactured in the 1930's (type 14-16). As a user, it will also fit a No. 6, but is slightly shorter for a No. 6 (by about 1/16"). The diameter of the raised k...nob ring cast into the bed of the plane is the same diameter, though, and it fits very nicely for all three of these sizes. For the No. 5, No. 5 1/2, and No. 6, it will fit types 14 through 19, but is technically not the correct style for types 17 and 18 as Stanley used another species of wood during the 1940's.
