DESCRIPTION Description: Offering a Woodrow Wilson (...printed) signed Postmaster Appointment for the city of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin c. 1919. The appointment reads "WOODROW WILSON PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA TO ALL WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, GREETING: Know Ye, That reposing special trust and confidence in the intelligence, diligence, and discretion of Howard J. Barry, I have nominated, and, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, do appoint him Postmaster at Sun Prairie, in the County of Dane, State of Wisconsin; and do authorize and empower him to execute and fulfill the duties of that office according to the laws of the United States and the regulations of the Post Office Department, and to have and to hold the said office with all the rights and emoluments thereunto legally appertaining, for and during the term of four years from the twenty-ninth day of August 1919, subject to the conditions prescribed by law. In testimony whereof I have caused these letters to be made patent and the seal of the Post Office Department of the United States to be hereunto affixed. Document has a few tears to the upper right corner, however it is neatly and securely encapsulated to a poster board to avoid further damage. The ink is still easily visible and in good condition.
