Beautiful Antique Hand Carved & Hand Made Black Forest Art Nouveau Era Sliding Book Ends / Bookshelf and detailed piece that looks to depict mountain goats and it is looks very well done and the piece is in nice shape but I think one of the goats is missing a horn. I do not know if it was supposed to have one horn or if it is missing and there looks to be some wood on the shelf as shown in the picture a small part that looks to have some wood split off but it is stil...l a very nice piece and it functions great. The sides with the goats are about 7 1/4 inches tall and the piece closed is about 16 1/2 inches long and extended it is about 25 inches and the width is about 7 1/4 inches.
