Welcome to my SaleI want to thank you for taking acloser look at what I have to offer – Grammy!Item ProfileAuthentic Lladro Figurine ... ~ Death of aSwan #4855 ~ We have a beautiful figurine from Lladro #4855 titled Death ofa Swan. it was issued in 1973 and retired in 2001. It is beautifully decoratedin lovely glazed colors, in the dying swan pose. Sculptor was Vicente Martínez.The figurine measures 5” tall x 9-1/2” wide. She is in mint condition – no crazing, nochips, cracks or repairs.This gorgeous figurine would make an excellent addition toany existing or newly started Lladro collection. She is absolutely fabulous. About the Figurine:The Dying Swan was first performed at a gala in the Noblemen'sHall, St. Petersburg, Russia on Friday, 22 December 1905, and first performedin the United States at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York on 18 March1910, with Pavlova in the role. American dance critic and photographer Carl VanVechten noted that the ballet was "the most exquisite specimen of[Pavlova's] art which she has yet given to the public." Pavlova performedthe role some 4, 000 times and, on her deathbed in The Hague, reportedly cried, "Prepare my swan costume."ABOUT LLADRO:This handcrafted porcelain collectible was made in Valencia, Spain by theinternationally famous sculptors at the Lladro Company. Noted for the famousporcelain figurines with soft coloring and a smooth finish, they have seducedmillions of people over the decades.
