 I bought this lovely antique wooden tea chest several years ago from a dealer in English antiques. I was told, and I agree, that this is English and from the early 19thc.  This piece is beautifully made and once was used to hold teas.  It measures 6 x 3 1/2 x 3 1/2". I do have the lid for each compartment, but I do not have the key.  I think the handles on the lids are bone, and you can see inside the box lid where decades have caused them to wear an impressio...n inside the lid. Each compartment once had a metal lining, which has worn with time.
