At 8.5 inches high, these are rare and are the largest size available. All are in mint condition.
Made by Royal Leerdam of Holland, these are reproductions based pn archaeological digs at Colonial Williamsburg OF A 1735 Georgian era design.
Hand-formed, mouth-blown lead glass stemware. Spiral air-twist form was developed in the 18th Century. In making this stemware, a wire is introduced into the molten stem to for...m a channel. Several channels are successively formed and then combined and twisted into a graceful spiral by the use of wooden paddles and other special tools by master craftsmen.Each piece has its individual characteristics, reflecting the skill of the artisan who produced it.This particular set was made by Royal Leerdam under license to Colonial Williamsburg.
They have an acid stamped "W" on the bottom indicatin that these are NOT the reproductions made by the Blenko Glass Company.
Each measures 8.5 inches high and 4.5 inches in diameter and weighs about 20oz.
