DESCRIPTION: Antique hand embroidered family crest / coat of arms O Byrne Ireland. The shield with a red and silver (depicting white) chevron with three dexter hands. Crest with mermaid holding two objects. Tassels flanking each side of shield. Banner "certavi et vici" (I have fought and won). Lots of gold and silver metallic thread used to create the piece which is sewn onto a navy blue wood backing.
