Primitive Wood Tote Crate Basket and Bushel Basket Farm Old Cobden IL Factory This is a lot of two old farm used wood and wire style baskets. The rectangular one was made at the old Cobden basket factory in Cobden, Illinois (now closed). I think it started making baskets for the orchard and farms here in Southern Illinois in late 1800's. The factory closed in the last 10 years I believe. I don't know the age of this basket as they probably made this style for a long time. This one... has aged look. It is made of thin wood and wire. The other basket is from this area too, but I don't know for sure if it is from the Cobden basket factory and it is newer age....but not real new. It is wood and wire construction as well. It measures 10" tall x 14 1/2" diameter at the top and slightly smaller at base. The rectangular tote measures 18" x 14" x 12". I am able to pack the round one inside the larger one so you are saving on shipping. They will weigh a bit over 10 lbs in shipping box and I am shipping USPS Parcel for cheapest rate.
