Come rain or shine – we do our best to return pipes their former glory and make them as much fresh, shining and ready to smoke as they were at the beginning of their life. In the restoration process we put our best efforts to clean a pipe with the taste- and smell-free alcohol and professional cleaning means, ream the chamber till bare wood and cover it with an active charcoal based bowl coat in case of a need, remove or patch scratches, chips, teeth m...arks, refresh staining if necessary, buff, wax and polish once again.
Definitely, it may not be that easy for a masterpiece with decades of biography and sometimes the result of a restoration is very good yet not ideal. That is why we have to put up with the existence of some minor drawbacks such as wears, darkening and slight roughness and scratches inside a chamber or inessential shape asymmetry of a bowl, a chamber or a stem. Other possible shortcomings – if any – will be available on our pictures or described in detail separately.
Therefore please look through all pictures, they are the part of our description and we always do our best to give you the most clear and realistic view. We don't photoshop our pictures to let you see even the smallest dots, motes and roughnesses. Please note that the real colour may be slightly different from what it appears to be on your screen: this may depend on your screen's settings.
Please don't forget also to pay your attention to provided approximate (plus-minus 1-2 mm) dimensions. For your convenience we use both cm and inches in our listings to make sure our buyer will receive a pipe of the desired size and weight.

A large and very accurately smoked high grade Charatan’s pipe from the most glorious period of the company history: in 1960s Charatan’ factory lead by Herman Lane was perhaps the most famous and blossoming English pipe brand and the top competitor to the Dunhill white spot. The pipe has no shape number , such pipes were being created by Charatan’s leading carvers without any prescripts dictatet by catalogue shapes standards and shapes – just great briar, its grain and fantastic imagionation of the artisan!
The pipe marking is “CHARATAN’S MAKE \ LONDON. ENGLAND \ DISTINCTION”, “Made By Hand \ In \ City of London”. The length is 16.0 cm (6.3″), bowl’s height is 5.1 cm (2.01″). External diameter of the bowl is 4.9 cm (1.93″), internal diameter is 2.4 cm (0.94″). The depth is 3.9 cm (1.54″) and this pipe weights 53 gr. Briar, vulcanite stem, no filter.

SHIPPING
We ship from Ukraine by Post of Ukraine ("Ukrposhta") service in a small package with the mandatory tracking option and insurance. Normally we ship within 2-3 banking days after the cleared payment. We may use recycled boxes for shipping but we always do our best to pack and protect your purchase as much as possible.
We may offer also shipping with UPS Express - it's much faster, the carrier promises deliver a parcel just in a few business days (at most 5), but of course the service is a little bit more expensive.
Due to decrease of regular international flights standard shipping may take more time than usual, up to 25-30 days and more. You may choose the UPS Worldwide express shipping option if you would like to receive the item faster.
RETURNS
We unconditionally agree a return of pipes during 14 days after the confirmed delivery. Of course the pipe must remain unsmoked. We will completely refund your purchase after arrival and inspection of the returned pipe. Buyer pays for return shipping only. For our customers in the USA we may provide a return address in United States.
