RARE Vintage Apollo 14 Zippo Lighter In Box. In good condition. Has not been tested. There is no flint, but there is still a wick. Hinge feels great I’ve tried to research this to no avail. I’m not sure if lighter was actually available to the public or if it was made in a small quantity and given only as thank you gifts to people at NASA involved with the Apollo 14 mission. This comes from the estate of a friend who was a veteran that was formerly stationed at Area 51 and in Flori...da. They talked about NASA and their military service to me extensively over the years but they never spoke of the lighter’s existence to me and I didn’t discover it till after they passed away so I don’t know the full story. The lighter has a date code of 1967 so it’s very possible that Zippo used new old stock to make a small batch custom order for NASA, saving the lighters manufactured in 1971 for the new designs that the company was releasing to the public. If anyone has any knowledge about this lighter, any information would be greatly appreciated. Please see pictures and don’t hesitate to ask any questions.
