It is marked Sterling - Mexico on the bottom of the lighter. It is typical of the Mexican Sterling Silver lighters that were inspired by the World-famous Dunhill Unique. They were made during late 1920’s through the 1930’s and were the first one handed lighter This beauty stands near 2 ½ inches tall with its lift arm open ...and is a well-built, solid, and heavy lighter. This rare piece is complete with its original and latched, Jeweler Box that is marked: Sanborn’s Mexico. LOLA, who’s initial were Jeweler engraved, took great care and kept it safe in its original box. It is excellent condition and free of any unsightly dents.The dark and light spots are a reflection of my camera. It is one of the early models as evidenced by the lack of the coin slot on the fill and fuel screws. It is in perfect working order with a strong lift arm spring and a new flint has been installed for your convenience.
