Genuine vintage Alfred Dunhill sterling silver and black lacquer cigarette case. Believed to have been produced in the Dunhill, Paris workshops in 1933 possibly for U.S. retail. Black lacquer over sterling silver. The case is opened by laying flat and pressing the upper centre of the case which flips open to reveal the interior which has two sliding dividers to separate cigarettes. The lip of the case is stamped 'DUNHILL' and 'STERLING'. The interior of the case is engraved 'E.S. Noel ...'33'. The golden 'B' on the exterior - upon inspection with a loupe - is believed to be gold and not plated. No sign of plate loss to be expected of a used item nearly 90 years old. The lacquer has some rubbing on the edges and sides but the fascias are in good condition. This is a very presentable piece. Measurements: 80mm x 60mm x 15mm.
