Here we have a wonderful antique match safe / vesta case, a souvenir of someone's visit to the Mormon Temple and Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, Utah, the home of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Dating to the late 1800's or very early 1900's, the case is made of nickel-plated brass, with a celluloid wrap having photo images of these two important LDS buildings. The black and white photos have had the leaves of the trees in them hand-tinted green. The case is appro...ximately 2-3/4" in length, holds sixteen matches, has a striker on the bottom and is in very good condition for its age, with some minor surface corrosion on some metal parts, wear to the nickel plating, and spots of discoloration on the celluloid wrap. Please see photos for details. Note: Matches are not included.
