English sterling silver round ashtray cup with cigar rest on a turned post and spring clip for mounting to the edge of a table. The piece weighs 3.88 troy ounces, and the round ashtray measures 2 3/8 inches in diameter and 1 inch high, and the handle measures 3 1/2 inches long and 1 1/8 inches across the end, and the rest cradle measures 2 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide standing on a 7/8 inch tall post. Marked on the side of the ashtray with the English hallmarks: &...nbsp;the maker "G&S Co. Ltd", the lion for sterling, the leopard's head for London, and the date letter "e" for assay in 1920. Marked on the underside of the clip with the maker, the lion and leopard's head and "Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company 112 Regent Street W." There are numerous tiny dings on the lower edge of the ashtray and rim, and tiny nicks along the edges of the rest, handle end, and table clip as well as shallow scratches overall, otherwise in good vintage condition.
