Iwan Ries & Co. of Chicago was the exclusive importer and retailer of these one-of-a-kind, modern, hand-made, straight-grain pipes. In current dollars, they retailed at roughly $250 each.Exceptiona...l straight graining and refined, modern shaping immediately identify these pipes as artisan pieces. The finish is a very light, natural stain that lets the briar’s quality speak for itself.The vivid, straight grain on this pipe surrounds most of the bowl, with birdseye along the rounded brim. Bowl is solid and seems very lightly used.
