Here’s a very Dublinesque freehand for Ben Wade from the mind of Preben Holm! About 6 1/2” long, bowl is 2 1/4” tall, 1 7/8” wide tapering to 3/4” at heel. ID 7/8”, depth 1 7/8”. Marked beneath shank Ben Wade in script/ MARTINIQUE/ HAND MADE/ IN/ DENMARK. A crown is stamped atop bit facing smoker. No other marks detected.
Military bit is well-seated push fit, no filter, cleaned and polished, showing some bite wear but no holes through. Stummel is rich dark walnut colo...red, flame grain, soft plateau grain on clean rim, cake in bowl. Shank end shows both smooth and plateau areas. Beautifully tapered look—excellent hand feel! Beauty!
