This is my very favorite antique doll.She is clearly marked DEPOSE JUMEAU 5 with 2 artist check marks. She is not perfect, but she is perfectly beautiful!! She is an early JUMEAU size 5, 16", She was made between 1886 and 1889, which makes her about 133 years old. She has the most angelic wistful look on her translucent perfectly painted face! I can get lost in her eyes which are early almond shaped, hand blown threaded, paperweight eyes, that are so much more beauti...ful than the later eyes by Jumeau. She has her original cork pate which fits her hand poured bisque head perfectly. Unfortunately sometime in her lifetime, she obtained several stable hairlines, 2 in front and one in the back of her head and one on side. She has not had any repairs to her bisque. Please look at all pictures carefully. She has had repair at both of her ankles. The rest of her very early straight wrist composition body looks very good, for her age, she is holding up much better than I am!! She has pierced ears with earrings, I do not know if they are antique or vintage. She has on a lovely vintage blonde human hair wig. Her dress is definitely antique and is made of various delicate handmade lace panels sewn together. It is very interesting to look at , and is starting to melt in some areas and could use some repair. She has on a vintage slip and bloomers , antique silk socks, with a hole in a toe. I have had custom made leather Jumeau shoes made in Europe, that are replicas of originals. I have only seen one other early Jumeau like this one and they are asking over 3 times what I am asking, but due to her hair lines, she is selling for an affordable price!! If you have always wanted a really outstanding antique Jumeau with all the artist marks and original pate, this doll may be for you. All serious offers will be considered.
