This listing is for the old pipe that you see in the photos. I purchased it at an estate sale in Oregon where I was not told its history. I think that it is probably old enough to be considered vintage. I leave it to the buyer to decide how old it is. When measured straight from the tip of the stem to the edge of the bowl It measures close to 9 ½ inches long. It is marked, “WDC Wellington Imported Briar”. There is no mark on the silver part. The condition is much like you see it i...n the photos. It appears to me to have been not used much. The stem looks fine with no teeth marks. Upon close inspection I see some very minor scuffs on the briar. There are a few small areas on the silver where the silver (looks like silver but it is not marked so I do not know for certain what it is) is slightly darkened from tarnish that has damaged the surface slightly. I have not tried silver polish. There is a light layer of dark deposits from smoking on the inside of the bowl. The bowl smells like sweet tobacco to me. When compared to the part that inserts into the pipe, the stem is probably not as shiny as it originally was. I have not sterilized or tried to smoke it. Otherwise, this pipe is generally fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition. I guarantee this pipe to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs “close to” because in my opinion no measurements are exact and some things are difficult to measure. I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied. I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation. I frequently purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often but not always ship the same or the next day. Often, I have a custom made box for larger items and that might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually biodegradable. Sometimes, I use used boxes. Please email me with any questions or suggestions. I do not ship on weekends. I might not be available to answer email on weekends. 10 photos should load with this listing.
