RARE and EXCEPTIONAL antique sampler dating to the early 19th century and worked by a young girl named Sarah Geen. The sampler is dated 13 September 1833 and is housed in an old, possibly original frame.The verse reads:Doth secret mischief luck within

And while the lamp holds out burn
The ...vilest sinner may return.Sewn with a variety of stitches and motifs to include: birds, a dog, shepherds, a house, butterflies, flowers and fauna.Dimensions:
H:41cm x W:43cms (16.25" x 17")Condition:
The sampler is in very good condition for age. No stitch loss or colour run. Minimal age related discolouration to the main cloth as to be expected. The quality of the stitching is top quality. Please refer to photographs. A truly beautiful example. Any questions please ask.
