It is my honor to offer for bid one of Rolex's most Classic Lineages, and in one of the most collectable dial variations: A 1959 ROLEX AIRKING 6552 SUPER PRECISION with an untouched ORGINAL Black STEP-DIAL with Bart Simpson Gilt Text and perfect Lume Plots! This is super rare for the Airking to be in this reference, and even more rare with this dial variation! This is on collectors radars!DIAL: This is a step dial variation! You very rarely find these in Rolex as a whole, and esp...ecially in black with the gilt writing. The step-dial has two parts to the dial with an inner and outer ring! The Lume plots are perfect and the dial has aged naturally to the collectable "spider-web" design. I doubt you will see another Airking 6552 that looks this good. And I believe this is one of the most collectable variant of the Airking produced! The Black Gilt Dial Rolex watches from this era had stunning glossy black paint used for them that shines the sunlight off it intensely! Despite being one of the lesser celebrated Oyster models, the Air King is rich with history and has timeless presence.Case: Excellent condition 34mm stainless steel case with only very minor wear as shown in the photos. The case is extremely sharp with crisp edges and bright polished surfaces. Model number 6552, with a 6565 double stamp on the caseback. The serial number is a 400, 000 serial number. The specific serial is listed in the photos.Bezel: Original fixed smooth steel bezel in excellent condition as pictured.Dial/Hands: Original Black gilt Step- Dial with Gilt text and o Outer Ring stick markers and sword hands. Dial and hands have great lume and are free from any defects. The lume is what collextors are going for! Caseback: Excellent condition original caseback, double stamped and from 1959 to confirm the serial number.Crystal: Original sapphire crystal in excellent condition free from any major blemish.Movement: Rolex caliber 1030 super precision automatic movement keeping excellent time.
