For SaleHistoric Bankers Federal Reserve Desk Chair 1930's Marble & Schattuck Co. Restored This is a beautiful desk chair of solid American walnut styled after the British bankers chair and manufactured by the Marble and Shattuck Chair Company of Cleveland Ohio 1901 to1938. This chair was completely taken apart, re glued, refinished in a satin polyurethane.Hand rubbed then re-assembled with new springs and caster wheels.Upholstery is new foam padding... and Naugahyde material. The mechanism underthe chair was striped then re-painted and greased and checked to work properly. This is a spectacular old antiqueswivel desk chair with a little history. It was made special for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York # E1390 which has the original brass tag on the back of the chair.Also written in yellow paint stenciled under the chair bottom. Also the manufacturers name on a brass coin in-bedded in the wood.Also on the back side of the chair it says The Marble & Shattuck Chair Co. of Cleveland
This chair swivels, rocks front to back and is double spring loaded adjustable springs.The chair front is 18" wide / 17" deep. Floor to top of seat is 20" lowers to 17". This is a beautiful desk chair and wouldcompliment any home or office. All restoration work was done by a professional wood worker.
