“Peshawar” 1919 Woodblock signed Print Charles W. Bartlett. This is a woodblock print created and signed by the late artist Charles William Bartlett. It is 15 1/2 inches long and 11 inches tall. This piece of art is not framed. It displays a vividly colored scene of camels drinking from the watering pool in Peshawar, Pakistan. The edges of the paper, along the border of the artwork, show what appears to be smoke damage. There are also several small (possibly mold) spots throughout ...the border as well. Many pictures have a penny for size reference to capture the size of the black dots. The artist’s signature is in red pencil in the bottom left hand corner of the piece of art.When this piece of art was recovered it was in a frame that was falling apart and the matting on the back was disintegrating. The artwork is currently stored between multiple sheets of acid-free paper in attempts to preserve it.
