A very, very rare find! Crown Trifari swan or crane brooch/fur clip designed by Alfred Philippe. A variation of this brooch in fine condition recently sold at auction for $4250!The large brooch features a faceted aquamarine crystal jelly belly and is encrusted with clear crystals. It is accented with a red cabochon eye and enameling at its webbed foot. This piece is large! Approximate measurements: 3 1/4" x 2 1/2". Silver tone or plated, or sterling--we don't know a...s it is not marked. Signed Crown Trifari. We have seen swan and crane Trifari pins from this 1940's era but not exactly like this design, anywhere. The crook of the bird's neck is very distinctive as is the large crystal stone. This stunning brooch has wear consistent with age, including some missing crystals and surface wear to the enamel. The pin mechanism works well.
