Joanies is very excited to be offering a large four-day important family estate collection. This prominent family of Doctors resided in China between 1890-1960 and during this time acquired a vast array of rare and important objects that have never been offered until now. This includes a vast array of Asi...an art examples, fine jades, snuff bottles, bronzes, porcelain, important Archaic works, and more.
A number of the items being offered were scheduled to be sent to New Yorks’s high end auctions, but due to large sale delays this year the estate had asked us to offer All the items. A great and rare opportunity to acquire some investment-grade examples.
Over the past 20 years Joanies has hosted Hundreds of estate auctions, auctioning upwards of a hundred thousand fine estate items during this time. And during this entire time Joanie's has Never had a Reserve on one item ever! Up for auction is a LARGE c1800 CHINESE JAIQING FAMILLE ROSE YELLOW ENAMEL JAR VASE MING JADE BEAD. An impressive large size famille rose yellow-ground jar dating to the c1800 period. With unique blown out or embossed precious objects decor very popular during the period. The enamel colors are rich and vibrant. Several of the embossed vases have great and interesting designs and enamel colors as seen.
The wood lid has a fine and large size antique jade dragon bead. As you will see being offered in our other items within this estate sale the family’s collection consists of several rare and important early Archaic jades, leading us to believe this bead is likely of substantial age and is possibly quite valuable on its own.
Condition: The jar is drilled to base with an old repair to one of the mask coral ground handles and other minor imperfections consistent with early age. The jar is overall in substantially good condition considering its age with no cracks or repairs as seen. UV light reveals no hidden damage.
Size: This is an impressive large size to display measuring 14 1/2 inches tall by 11 1/4 inches wide, and 19 1/2 inches tall including lid and finial. The jade finial itself measures 2 1/2 inches tall by 1 1/4 inches wide.
