Here’s a very nice Stanwell treasure—what a beauty! About 5 1/2” long, bowl is 1 13/16” tall 1 7/16” wide. ID 3/4”, depth 1 5/8”. Marked atop shank STANWELL/ de Luxe (script), beneath shank 113/ MADE IN DENMARK. A brass crown over a brass capital S inlaid atop bit. No other marks detected.
Bit is well-seated push fit, no filter, cleaned and polished, showing a hint of chatter. Stummel is rich walnut colored, cross grain and birdseye, a few dings and scratches, slightl...y scorched rim with some minor edge wear on front, lightly caked bowl. Excellent old briar—what a beauty!
